Welcome to the Hoghton Players’ Website.

I have the pleasure of being the Society’s Chairman for 2009 - 2010. Gilbert & Sullivan’s Operas have been performed and enjoyed for over 130 years, and this year we intend to continue that tradition. In the autumn we will be performing a series of concerts. This year it is Yeoman of the Guard and hope that those unfamiliar with ‘G&S’ will enjoy this lively and amusing introduction.

The main focus of our year will be a stage performance of HMS Pinafore at Southport College Theatre as the Arts Centre in Southport is under refurbishment from 17-20th March 2010. Those who were fortunate enough to see last year's production of Ruddigore will know that we try to update our show with dancing and colour whilst making sure that the essence of ‘G&S’ is not lost. We are most fortunate to have a loyal and experienced cast and have been delighted that over the last few years we have been joined by a number of very talented and enthusiastic new faces. Our productions teams always give us great guidance and rigorous rehearsing and as a result we are looking forward to another excellent show.

Finally, we are always ready to welcome new members, so if you would like to join us either on stage or helping out with one of the numerous behind the scenes tasks; please click here for more information.
We can guarantee you a warm and friendly welcome.

I look forward to seeing you at the show!

David Sidey, Chairman
